High in the Foothills of the Himalayas
I took these two photos in a temple hidden in the hills near Leh in Ladakh, once part of Kashmir until 2019.
These beautiful cups simply rested on the edge of a wall, with a sheer drop below. I don't know how old they were, but they were both well used and exquisite.
In the photo below I simply took a few steps back and changed my lens. I love the casual touch of the flowers growing beside them; just as beautiful, just as important to the monks. In the distance are the snow capped mountains of the Western Himalayas.
I feel the flowers and the mountains change the tone of the photograph. I don’t know which I prefer.
I would love your thoughts.

The magic of the Taj Mahal is amplified with a dawn visit. Time it well to be the first person of the day inside, and for a few moments have the place to yourself.
